martyboi's corsa

Post by martyboi on Tue Mar 30, 2010 3:31 pm

Well heres the wee beasty Laughing its not the best trackcar in the world..... but it's a start.... it's cheap.... and it's mine Razz

I bought it a couple of years ago with a 20XE engine allready fitted, This is it after a day (or two Embarassed ) of t-cut'ing it Suspect

since then i have done a fair bit of work to it, but not as much as i would like...

polly bushes

gaz GHA (i think) coilovers

eccentric top mounts

equal length shaft setup from a calibra and new hubs

cavalier turbo brakes on the front

solid engine mounts

Had a major oil leak from the cooler pipe, wich was a good excuse to get a mocal 10 row Smile

also had a bit of powder coating done to make the engine look a bit nicer Laughing
wish it was still that clean Rolling Eyes

I also fitted nitrous, not ideal for the track... but good for a laugh at the lights (especially with the badge Laughing)

heat shield for the cone filter

new set of wheels

Then i managed to pick up a bolt in half cage fairly cheap

and a set of cobra daytona seats an luke harnesses

made some side panels out of perspex

still got a fair bit to do, but i will keep you updated Wink

Well as the corsa is going to marham at the end of the month, for 2 days of track abuse... i thought i better get it in fairly good shape.

Its mainly all service stuff TBH, so nothing special im affraid Neutral

leads, rotor cap & arm, rear shoes, rear wheel bearing, and a pair of sump gaskets to hopefully cure the leaky sump Rolling Eyes

and some oil and brake fluid that i got from opie oils, the octane booster was free with the oil Wink

Started to change the cambelt on it today..... but i was given the wrong one Suspect
hopefully have it all done by next week, then i can get some new rubber Twisted Evil

well i got the r888's on and what a difference! i thought the t1r's were good, but these are in a different league Very Happy they dont have as much feedback though the steering as the t1r's, but i think its due the them being a higher profile, but the car feels alot more planted now Cool i would swear you can hear them sticking to the road Laughing
cant wait till the weekend to give them a propper test Twisted Evil

Man one tidy car that! Looking forward to the guide on the nos kit ?

Is that a direct port single injector wet kit ?

If i got this right, fit like RPM cutter, so you could only use it once it hit certains rev. And the mixture will be premixed before it gets to the injector? (Mix of nos and fuel) And this is done with a t-piece from the fuel line and the nos can ?

Am doing my research on to get one fitted to mine!

Thanks
ming
